jesu - why are we not perfect? is the songs from the eluvium split + 2 remixes of songs from said split record.  not a whole lot of material but the song "farewell" is pretty sweet.

whats it like?

I don't want to have to do this living. I just walk around. I want to be swept off my feet, you know? I want my children to have magical powers. I am prepared for amazing things to happen. I can handle it.

Re: Currently Playing...

Ashbury Heights- Smaller, and a lot of electroclash and old classic house songs. Anyone else here a fan of old house music?

Re: Currently Playing...

Ferment is my favorite album of theirs, but I really like Chrome and Adam and Eve. I owned Cats and Dogs at one point, but don't know about the other (two?) albums. Are they good and worth picking up?

Re: Currently Playing...

Low- Drums and Guns (this album has really grown on me, though I initially did not care for it)
Portishead- Third (this album has really grown on me, though I initially did not care for it)
Jana Hunter
Will Oldham
Black Angels
Brigitte Bardot
Iggy Pop
François Virot (Really digging this)
Lauter (Really digging this)
Drey (really enjoying this. It reminds me of like, Joy Division, Talking Heads and Bauhaus all blended up like a Pina Colada)

And in my eyes, your smile

"Happy Days" (1995)  is their heaviest-sounding album, musicwise.  It's definitely worth picking up on Amazon.com for $1.64. smile

"Wishville" is my least favorite, but holds its own. Also can be had for pennies on the dollar.

Like Cats and Dogs is just a b-sides record, but tracked to play like a normal album so it flows pretty well.

"Adam and Eve," to me, is their OK Computer. In fact it came out right around the time OK Computer did and was totally overlooked. It's too bad, because that record is brilliant.

You should definitely check out Rob Dickinson's solo record. He reworked a couple of Catherine Wheel throwaway songs from the Wishville era (that were to be b-sides originally), and the album was just re-released with a bonus disc of acoustic Catherine Wheel songs.
