Looks interesting for sure and with Phil Carney involved it should be quality. Lots of people and place names too just like Mark.

Yeah give it a listen on caldoverde.com, very RHP-ish on the song Mojave Mirage. Im liking the sound of this a lot.

Yeah, the photos are less than stellar. I noted on facebook (?) that MK is producing this.

Bahahah that skull photo is beyond akward. Besides that, it sounds amazing. I'm hoping for a vinyl release

Heres another song from the desertshore release, and an interview with phil. Really does sound like this is going to be superb.

In fact this record is amazing! I wish they would put it out on vinyl......it almost sounds like RHP instrumentals.....strange huh:D

...my copy turned up yesterday though I haven't listened to it yet.
I'm guessing not many people have ordered it ? - a guess based on the fact that when I stuck the CD into iTunes the track listing was not in the gracenote database thing, prompting some grumpy two finger typing on my part....

i really really like this DESERTSHORE album. it's really beautiful.
now it's striking me that the tune called "koko" was actually probably called this way as a private joke: 1) you hear koz laughing at the end of the song, and maybe it's him counting before they play, pretty sure about it, 2) you've got the same AFP spanish atmosphere and, well, it's called "koko"... "kokozelek", don't you think so ?... ;-)

...or it's the japanese word ?? [koko], meaning "here".

Good stuff. What surprised me is that the electric guitar playing on the album sounds very similar to what I hear in RHP and "Ghosts" from SKM. I always attributed that playing to Mark, but perhaps it was Phil that was responsible for it...if so, kudos to Phil, I always gave Mark the credit! Was also surprised how much the acoustic on "Gwynnedd" sounds like Mark...has that same "low high" guitar pattern that Mark uses in seemingly every song.
Too bad this project couldn't have been the next RHP album (or SKM album) with Mark adding lyrics for the songs...
