Sun Kil Moon, MMJ, Many More Partner With Patagonia for Charity

This popped up on Paste Magazine's site, but has since been removed.

Google cache caught it tho.. not sure if it's still happening, but interesting nonetheless.

Eco-friendly clothing company Patagonia will step into the music biz next March with the launch of Patagonia Music.

The site will sell songs for 99 cents each, and 100% of each sale will go to an environmental charity of the artist’s choosing. Patagonia Music will debut on March 1 with 24 tracks, and they’ll roll out four additional songs each subsequent week.

Over 100 artists have already donated music to the site, including Pearl Jam, Bonnie Raitt, Blitzen Trapper, Mason Jennings, Mark Kozelek/Sun Kil Moon, Dave Matthews, O.A.R., Low, Nada Surf, Philip Glass, moe., Maroon 5, Vetiver, Damian Marley and Nas, Gomez, My Morning Jacket, Gogol Bordello, Brandi Carlile, Dawes, Los Lobos, Esperanza Spalding, Piers Faccini, The Bad Plus, John Scofield, Minus the Bear, Moondoggies, Guster, Amos Lee, Drive By Truckers, Phish, Ra Ra Riot and more.

Looks like the track is called Chin Swee Suite. Nice spotting, coupdetat.

You can hear a sample here - click on Launch the Patagonia Music Player on the left.

Buy it on iTunes here.

Agreed.  Just purchased it and listened a few times.  It's by far Mark's most straight ahead shot at a classical composition.  I get the feeling listening to it, like I do some of the stuff on AFP, that his choices with the classical flourishes are somewhat arbitrary.  It sometimes feels like he's just going up and down the neck and looking for something dissonant, and not terribly concerned about staying in key or in time.  Having listened to quite a bit of classical guitar, it feels like he's good on technique but not really studied in theory, which is not a bad thing per se but like I said it does sometimes end up sounding quite arbitrary.

I'd like to buy it, but it's not available on iTunes in Canada!  Very frustrating.

I'd still like to hear this but have no way of getting hold of it in the UK, and it's not available anywhere else online. I guess this is the only Kozelek release I don't have. Does anyone have a copy? - It's not like I'm not willing to spend $0.99 on it!
Thanks

Just heard about this track. Looks like it's no longer for sale. Can't find it anywhere. Would anyone be willing to share?
