Re: The Cure

^ that would be immense and worth the wait! I fear with their busy festival season they may not get this out this year, also they look set to break their like-clockwork 4 year album release pattern, not that the last couple have been great anyway. What happened to the 'dark album' they were supposed to be doing after 4:13 Dream, thats what I want to know

Re: The Cure

the dark album will be on the Cure Anthology box set due out after they break up, along with the full Rome 1989 show (with the infamous Tiananmen Square version of Faith). smile

and it's the 20th anniversary of Wish this year.. they BETTER put that out.

Re: The Cure

For real? Who mentioned breaking up? Not heard of Anthology. Its not a way of making us buy music we already own by them YET AGAIN is it?

By the way I have made my own version of Wild Mood Swings, swapping out the weak (IMO) tracks for the b-sides.

1. Want
2. Club America
3. Home
4. Mint Car
5. Jupiter Crash
6. Numb
7. Waiting
8. A Pink Dream
9. Ocean
10. Trap
11. Treasure
12. Bare
13. It Used To Be Me
14. Adonais

Re: The Cure

Ha they're not breaking up, nor are they releasing an anthology.. I was just saying that whenever they do break up and if an anthology does come out, I'm hoping it would include that stuff. wink

Re: The Cure

Jason / DaveC, I am quite sure you already know this but for the rest of you, if any of you are fans or earlier Cure stuff and have not checked out the reissues of the earlier albums you are really missing out on some gems. All of the b-sides, demos, live material and unreleased tracks are amazing and abundant. When you take the reissues extras as a whole, it is like having a full two albums of early cure material. Robert kicks ass for giving the fans all of this incredible music. I must say though, the Disintigration and Kiss Me extras left a lot to be desired when compared to the extras on all of the pre-Disintigration reissues.

Re: The Cure

I was just going to ask if the reissues are worth picking up. Thanks for the info.

Play Out was a pay-per-view cable special in 1991. It was called "The Cure: Onstage, Offstage & More" (I have it recorded on VHS.. I was so excited when it came on lol). It was a nice look at the Cure in 1991 playing a warm-up secret gig at a small club in London, backstage at Wembley Arena for the Great British Music Weekend, their performance on Unplugged and a couple other places. It was basically seven days in the life of the Cure from January-February 1991.

They expanded it and released it later that year as Play Out on VHS and Laserdisc (!!). I have the Laserdisc. smile

Besides being an inside look at the Cure that you seldom see, it was also notable because they performed an early version of Cut, called "Away" - which is fantastic.
